The boards are by default 'sorted' for the latest 100 topics. If the forum summary says there are 8 topics posted but you see only two, try scrolling down to the bottom of the board you will see 3 sort choices. By Last Post Time, Descending Order and Last X number of days. You can sort by one choice or a combination of the three to help you locate the topics and not clutter up too much of your screen.
So next time you don't see all of the topics in a forum, try to sort by from beginning. Be warned, this might take a while depending on the number of topics there are.
