New members didn't have the opportunity to join us. In February this year we had a chat party for Chinese New Year and it was a lot of fun (at least for me). I hope everyone who did join found it fun also.

There has been talk about getting another chat party but we let that slide some and maybe its time to bring it up again. I know some of you won't be able to join and that's ok. If you're new, a chat party is where we all come together at a set day and time to chat in real time. We also played some games and had some prizes.

I'm thinking this time we find a game coordinator for the games and prizes. We could find prizes in different way. One way is anyone of us can get a small (value is not of importance) gift and contribute to the gift pool. Second way is we all contribute a small value to a community chest and using the money collected in the community chest we buy about 2 maybe 3 if money permits prizes. The last time, I got someone to sponsor and I felt that didn't turn out quite well. Also I was bogged down because I was the one doing it all and everyone didn't have any experience with a online party before.

If we're interested to start this, I'll need I think 3 party leaders. A game coordinator to think of games and prizes. A Treasurer who will collect the money if we use the community chest method. And a attendance coordinator to remind everyone once a week or regularly, rally everyone up, get a grasp of who's attended and help the game coordinator track prize winners. Gimme your thoughts!

Lyn, I'm thinking abt this.  I dont mind being one of the 3 party leaders.. I'll let you know which one soon.  I really enjoyed the last one because it was so gila-gila.  It doesn't even have to be prizes Lyn,  I just enjoyed the games we had going.

You know, the prizes were donated the last time but its not set in stone to have prizes. That was just a suggestion since we had it the last time. I've already had so many people say they don't want prizes and that is fine everything here is just a suggestion. But maybe games would still be nice huh. I think we need a game or activity coordinator for sure.

BTW Litha some of the prizes were in the form of a e-book or downloadable stuff.

Sorry, but I'm one of those who's not keen on prizes too. The games are fun but I think it's too much trouble to 'collect' money, buy present and then mail it to the person. I know some are downloadable stuff but where do we draw line on who contribute money and who doesn't?

Also if we are going to chat more often like once a month or a few times in a year, then we can also rotate responsibilities. Like in one chat a person will in charge of games and then the following chat, another person can - more fresh ideas this way  :-D

Lyn, I agree...maybe best if we leave out the prizes.  Everyone wants the games tho.  I know I really did enjoy the questions you had for us the last time.  So what's the next step?

Usually a time will be agreed upon on date and time. Then go to the left hand column on "Interact" (second white word with dark blue background) Click the "Chat with us" and it will bring you to another site and logged in again w/ the same username and password that you use here. If you can't, then you might have to registered again with that chat site. Then see which room that everybody is in and just come in lah :-)

Okay, I'll settle for games and lots of good company. So... any game coordinator? :-D I'm thinking maybe we have a 'trial' chat time real soon without games but just open the room up one Friday night, anyone free just come along lah if not then that's ok also nothing 'formal'. Anyone game?

I'm game, except I don't know what is the best time. Nish has no help w/ Melissa now, so perhaps we can work around her nap time? :-) As for me, the later the better. Anywhere between 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Central time would  suits me :-)

It'll be nice just for Friday or one day of the weekend I think. I also don't have help with the girls since Ken works nights and he's back on 10 hour shifts (3.30pm - 2am). I'll probably be in and out but thats ok just an informal chat :-) I need to change the chat thing also so you don't have to log in twice and our new server allows chat. I'm really looking forward to a littl live talk :bounce: the girls have been driving me nuts.
